I beliebe there are probably lots of people who know what’s going on but nothing 100% until it’s 100%
you can be 1 inch from the goal line and not get in the endzone

No not Freeman. Deal has been done since Thursday. It’s done done. Just waiting to announce after last regular season game to respect his players and fans
A verbal agreement is not "done done" and I'm pretty sure they can't sign with a new school without at least informing the current school. Which in the case of most major programs would mean immediate firing. For instance, Ole Miss is fully aware of what Kiffin did to Tennessee on his way out the door. Any verbal commitment is still listening to other offers.

LSU, currently without a president or AD is not making a hire this fast unless it’s a huge name person lol

As soon as someone says it’s definitely Kiffin or that Saban is in the mix, I disregard everything they say.
There is zero reason for Kiffin to leave Ole Miss unless it’s way more money, as much as you guys think we have unlimited money, we don’t. The prestige of LSU is overstated, we have 3 championships since 2003 but have been irrelevant most of the last 13 years. And it’s clearly not as easy to win here as we thought.
There is even less reason for Saban to come.
But some guy here was saying it was Kiffin, but Saban talk was “very real”

Why did they announce a search committee on Friday then?

Then a few days later that narrative completely fell apart and I looked like a massive jackass.
Agreed

I had every reason to believe my source at that time. Lincoln Riley was a done deal. This guy was very legit and had no reason not to believe him.
And then after hiring Kelly, Woodward said they didn't even understand all the Riley talk because he wasn't even considered. What exactly was your guy doing telling you all that?
Posted on 11/3/25 at 12:02 am to Wolfcola
Yes, I am dense enough to ask why a search committee was announced the day after you say a deal was finished.

So you are dismissive off your own opinion. Cool.
You have no idea how another person views things.

Only other name that could be considered "very successful" is Kyle Whittingham.
Whittingham has 5 straight bowl losses. And wasn't even bowl eligible last season.
WTF? HTF could he even be considered. 5 straight bowl losses! 2-7 in conference last season and 5-4 in conference the season before that. And spare me any QB got injured talk. I would like a coach that offense is good enough to overcome a QB injury. At least good enough to not bottom out like that. WTF. Horrendous.

No way that the 2 BOS that were on the stage the other day with Verge are capable of pulling anything meaningful off.

Jimbo was on the jet headed here. You’re correct.

?
I said anyone who says it’s Kiffin or Saban according to their sources, is discredited to me. 0% chance we end up with either of those dudes.

I am responding to you saying this.
This is your opinion. I don't know how you can say this with any certainty.
I really hope it's one of the two just because so many don't believe it's possible.
I have heard time and time again how LSU is poor from LSU fans including a bald man that's pretty famous only to see LSU can raise some serious money when needed. I've also seen non bias sites like on3 or something consistently report how LSU has more money than perceived.
I very much use to believe LSU was poor until they proved otherwise. LSU and its success is too important to this state not to spend money IMO. I realize there are other schools with much more money than LSU, but it only takes one really wealthy person to help out here.
Why would one person take on most of the buyout only for LSU to go cheap? I don't know. Seems like they are looking to spend. If they wanted to go cheap then I think they would have at least waited for the season to finish. If I had that kind of money and was fronting all that I think I am also fronting for the incoming staff to be elite, but that's me.
I just don't think LSU buys that coach out so early only to go cheap. I just don't agree with dismissing possibilities, because you might think LSU is cheap or a coach doesn't view LSU a certain way. You could be right on the money, so we shall see. I don't agree that there is zero reason for someone like Kiffin to move. He could easily have his own reasons aside from what you think.
I would love to see LSU get an elite coach that truly locks down one side of the ball and have some serious consistency, because of it. He very well could envision the same. Ole Miss can pay Lane whatever, but they could still struggle to get the type of talent Louisiana offers. It might be an easier pull for Kiffin at LSU to have even more talent than at Ole Miss. Regardless if the money is the same. Louisiana produces more talent than Mississippi. I think he would crush it more at LSU than he is at Ole Miss.

I doubt there are any true sources posting on this site! Even the people who really believe they ARE sources because they work in or around the LSU athletic department are NOT true sources. And lastly , information changes so fast that even if you did have a legit source, unless that person is at the very tippy top of the decision making tree, the information received is likely outdated.
