There are a couple differences in our coaching searches though.
Sumlin was let go on November 17th 2017 and Jimbo was hired on December 1st. Our "search" only lasted 2 weeks.
After Jimbo was hired, it came out that Woodward had decided to let Sumlin go after the UCLA collapse and Jimbo was initially contacted around then.
There were definitely rumors and stuff swirling before he was hired though.
If I remember correctly, the information we were given beforehand from our insider website was something along the lines of "Just let it play out and you'll be happy" without ever mentioning Jimbo's name.

This does not mean he wouldn’t play again. Never stated that. I stated the initial benching and the headache that Riley had to handle with that. He has no choice but to put in Rattler to at least try and compete and win the game.
Do you want to keep Max Johnson in after he continually takes sacks and has turnovers? You want to give the back up a chance to try and win the game? Or are you cool with just giving a losing effort. He didn't say they were the biggest difference is sumlin fired to Jimbo hired was 2 weeks we are like on week 5 going on maybe 5/7 of not knowing who we got so our fan base is obviously guessing more.

Wouldn't it be in OU's favor to troll a future SEC rival and push misinformation out since it's so hush on OU's side? It can't really impact their recruiting because nothing is coming from their side other than laughing at us. Would Riley and OU have an intentional effort to mislead LSU to have a rival focus on a coaching search that's actually not realistic? I know, conspiracy theory but I've seen worse. It's really hard to believe the Riley deal is done. Sorry, I just can't believe that. Mutual interest at best maybe but not a "done deal".
