My prediction for the next “update”

Lots of gears turning. LSU offered Riley everything and the kitchen sink. Scott really gave it his all but Riley is just too comfortable living in Norman and really reinforced his position to the university. He also doesn’t want to break the promise he made to Bob Stoops. Scott couldn’t reel in his whale, but it looks like we are getting another whale. Scott is keen on making this happen. There are way more whales in the sea, and Scott is determined to hook his 2nd prize fish. Will update when I get more word.

That sounds realistic to me. Not sure how to feel about Napier, but there are worse hires for sure.

Look I’m just tired of the bullshite games. If anything the last 48 hours prove that neither one of these guys know what the frick they are talking about.

i'm fine with scott going after the big fish. he'd be irresponsible not to. but he needs to know when to cut bait, because he might miss out on other candidates. i think we are about at that point.

Or maybe it's a fluid process with lots of negotiating back and forth, and even the principals involved don't know with absolute certainty what's going to happen.
The thing about bashing people who know something about what's going on is that eventually they decide it's not worth posting on a message board, and then you REALLY don't get any information of value. You'd think people would get that, but obviously they don't.

I have never once said this. I mentioned in my “update” thread that this is part of the coaching search. Tactics will be used by both sides.

SW didn't fire a natty coach to settle on a Sun Belt coach who is a big question mark on the P5 level and who never wins a conference championship. Dream on but it would never happen with SW.

I'm assuming SW has a plan B already in place. I don't think we got played. Riley is pushing for a playoff spot so he can't come out and throw his team under the bus. Plus there's coaches available that we know of, and coaches that we probably don't have a clue to what may be happening. If Riley stays at Ok, I'm fine with that.
