He isnt going anywhere this year. He is about to get a big raise to pay him 2.3 million with incentives.

MSU is a stepping stone job. Mullen will leave in the next couple of years, but it'll be for the right job.

His stock will not go much higher. It will take a major program, but If the right job is offered (Miami comes to mind) he is gone this year. If he stays and wins 8 games next year, he cab have his pick of any opening in the country. Thats MO.

I wouldn't go that far...

He will have solid job opportunities, but to make it sound like he is the #1 guy out there is a bit silly.

I don't think Mullen goes anywhere this year. He's really ticking off Ole Miss fans with his "School up north" stuff which really pleases the MS State fans. He's a good coach and going to develop a good program. The news here in Jackson said that MS State is working on a contract extension right now for him. Unless some major school comes calling he's going to hang tight for at least another season.

2.3 million is not very much - wonder if Michigan might be interested?

Spurrier and Chizik currently only make 2.2 million. Dont try to fool yourself to believe that 2.3 million isnt much money. Rich Rod makes 2.9 mil at Michigan FWIW.

Are they really talking about firing him?

If he gets an offer from a bigger school he'll make much more than that.

Colorado would be smart to take a look at Mullen. If he keeps winning he won't be in Starkville very long.

Have you honestly ever even been to Starkville?

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. I know Starkville isn't Baton Rouge, but its not even comparable to Haiti. Give me a break.

Congrats MSU on having a great year and being ranked. Quite an achievement.

Wouldn't Colorado be a step down from MSU?
