@WarBlogle: NFL QB coach seems to be the route Chizik is taking for OC. WE @McClain_on_NFL: Auburn is interested in Texans QB coach Greg Knapp as OC.

I know this has been discussed as a possibility, but what do you Tiger fans think about this? Is he a West Coast Offense guy?

I know he hasn't been very popular at his past few OC stops in the NFL

My biggest worry with him is he has only been in the pro's, except for Sacramento St. I believe. I don't know how he will translate to college game/recruiting

Appears we're doing the complete opposite of the first time.

2009 - Homerun OC hire & a shite DC hire.

Thats if Knapp is the guy. For a while Stoops was the guy. There still is no telling right now.

I'm crossing my fingers that this is all rumor. Don't want to be a debbie downer, or an airport heckler, but color me unimpressed if this is the guy.

I dont think Knapp would be a bad hire. West Coast O. He has not had the greatest personnel where he has been. Vick was not that good in ATL. But he was able to use Vick as a runner to lead the NFL is rushing. Kyle Frazier is alot like Vick. Maybe he could build an O around him

Houston also lead the league in rushing that was not an option team. Id like to see that zone rushing game back at AU.

If he was the guy, it would've already been announced. These same guys were calling for Stoops, but I don't think an offer was ever extended. I still this our OC is still coaching.

I don't know why they are waiting to announce it, but I have heard that this is a done deal. Better get ready for it because that is going to be the guy.

If he runs a Shanahan/Kubiac offense, I'm on board.

Knapp wasn't the OC in Houston. He landed there as a QB Coach after being fired as the OC at his previous 3 stops.

i think his biggest strength is just working with qb's. seems like au would be in the market for a spread guy

I told you. When he wins a championship, Ill spell it right. Ill even lower the bar. If he beat UGA and Gumps in the same season, Ill spell it right. UNtil then IM not wasting brain space because his momma can't spell Kyle.

Yeah, I qoulsn't understand this hire for you guys. AU has shown that it will spend for coaches. This would be a head scratcher after investing in BVG.

I didnt say he was the OC. Todd Grantham was not the DC at Dallas, but brought that system with him.

I have heard the QB coach from San Fran is being considered as well can't think of the name off the top of my head. If Knapp was the guy I think we would have heard this week imo.
