Michigan's Athletic Director didn't even schedule a meeting or a phone call with Miles or his agent. He wouldn't even return Miles'agents calls!
LINK

"Miles was widely believed to prefer the Michigan job. He had sent signals through back channels for weeks, and he knew the terms of a pending five-year Michigan offer.

But now he needed to know, for sure, that he was Michigan's man.

As I wrote in Sunday's Free Press, U-M athletic director Bill Martin could not provide that assurance. I now know that was only part of the story.

Martin did not even tell Miles' representatives to hang on and wait until their Sunday or Monday interview.

He didn't tell Miles, or anybody else, anything.

Multiple people at U-M have told the Free Press that Martin was nowhere to be found. Several people tried to reach him, in pretty much every way. They all struck out...."

".... I was not going to call back Les' agent until after that game."

People are furious at this UM Athletic Director. But congratulations to LSU.

When will it end? Funny, I didn't know the free press had achieved message board status.

All of these Michigan stories fall short for me. Michigan knew that Carr was gone after this year-Either Retiring or Firing. I

Michigan's Football Coach should have been a done deal by Dec 1. I don't get it.

When Nutt from AR-Kansas was known to be interested in leaving...Ole Miss fired Orgeron and Hired Nutt within about 48 Hours.

You are absolutely right. We don't get it up here either. This AD is just starting a 'process' now.

He probably also thinks that recruits will still want to come to Michigan just because it's Michigan no matter who the next coach will be. He better get on the job or this year's recruiting class for UM is going to more than suck!!

Hey Bammer North, maybe you can get Nick $aban and then you can spend a few years telling everyone you're back..............

As soon as he doesn't have to win with Carr's players

I heard about this on Colin Cowherd XM ESPN yesterday. Seriously, I don't know what the heck your AD is doing! He ought to be flogged and fired for his lack of responsiveness and for the way things turned out with the #1 choice (Les).

Hopefully for LSU, there is nothing behind the scenes still going on. Today is Thurs, isn't the Board of Dir. at LSU supposed to approve Les' contract extension today, and hopefully have it signed by tomorrow? We will have to wait and see.

I agree, but I also believe that everything happens for a reason. Meeechigan's loss is our gain. I love Les and I look forward to the day when he considers my son for a scholarship.

And Ole Miss will probably hang a banner noting the occasion!

Actully the facts coming out that Miles agents calls went unreturned is new. Previously is was thought that Miles shunned MI but that's not the case - Miles wanted MI but MI offered absolutely nothing. Not even a hint that he was at the top of their list.

1. All the hpyesters continulally quote Meechigan sources to the exclusion of any from LSU - just sayin'.
2. Didn't call 'back': EASILY could be spin/hearsay/lie.
3. Even if there is some truth along the 'attempted to make/made' "contact" lines, "contact" is a very ill-defined or un-defined term. For example, aren't we making/attempting/in 'contact' right now by virtue of this exchange?

To put a finer point on it: Say Miles' agent's secretary called Meechigan's AD's office to schedule 'contact' AFTER the SECC, as per given terms. Couldn't such a call be interpreted as the parties 'attempting to make' or being 'in' "contact"?

All that's really going on here is a whole heap of CYA by a lot of very red-faced Meechigan boosters/apologists and sports media 'journalists'.

So why don't you all just STFU and get over it?

Thanks.

Why don't you take the quotes from Miles agent? That's certainly not hype.

-Miles had no idea if Michigan really wanted him.

So Bass decided to ask.

He said he called Martin's cell phone on Friday and left a message. He just wanted to know where Miles stood.

Then, when he didn't hear back, the agent said he called Martin again.

"The (LSU) deal was so good that we couldn't just wait," Bass said via phone Tuesday. "I didn't know if we were one of the candidates in the pool at that time. There was just no communication."

"He will always love Michigan," Bass said. "It's a place that's very special in his heart. This has been very tough on him."

yet another fine example of why I hate living up in freaking MI. I am in freaking saginaw, MI which is like a step down from Hammond.... And yet I knew all this "breaking News" and yes it all was on this board for at least 24 hours if not 48... I forget which.
