Mike Norvell has to be the favorite for the Arkansas job right?

He's from Arkansas and has done an awesome job at Memphis. No brainer

In the most Arkansas of moves, he’ll beg for our job, we’ll pass and hire some loser, and he’ll go on to win multiple National Championships at another SEC school.

Hopefully we go elsewhere first. He may be good but I want to see him sustain success after Fuentes influence is gone.

I hear what you're saying, but if Arkansas doesn't hire him this year or next at the latest, they'll have missed their chance. He isn't going to wait around at Memphis for the Arkansas job.

He's very young. Appears to be intelligent and savy. Getting some benefit from Fuentes' prior work. Can he recruit, build, sustain?

Some SEC/Arky HC learning curve to go through. Even so, decent chances he'd get better results than Bert out of the talent currently at Arky.

If successful, he could be a long term solution. Shouldn't co$t much to give him a shot, which would help offset Bert's buyout. Might be a risk worth taking.

I don't see any way they win 2 of the final 3. They could maybe upset one team and get in a bowl with five wins.

Arkansas beat Coastal Carolina by one point.
Arkansas State beat Coastal Carolina by 34 points.

Lack of funds is the only reason to keep Bert around.

We just fought back from 2 touchdowns down to win against a bottom 3 FBS team. We're not winning anymore games, let alone two. Attendance yesterday was the worst since early 2000's. He's gone.

At this point I'd take Houston Nutt back.

I really don't understand all the love for Kiffen.

Long would never, ever hire Art Briles. What school would? Well Auburn probably would.

I think Norvell is the next Houston Nutt type. Could re-ignite the fan base and is much more structured offensively. I like it. Let's do this quickly.

I get the impulse but people said this about Chris Petersen at Boise for awhile. If you think the guy can coach, hire him.

I feel like Norvell or Chad Morris would be a nice fit for Arkansas. When a school fires a coach, they generally tried to make a subsequent hire with a completely different style from the one that was performing so poorly it got the previous coach fired.

Arkansas' best success over the last few years was when Petrino opened up the passing game. Bert came in and tried to play Wisconsin football. Ark. couldn't get enough recruits to match the SEC in that regard. Nor could they play that style and consistently beat SEC opponents.
