How old are you sleepy tiger because like I have posted before age perception changes ! When I was a 12 ye old like you 30 was definitely OLD, then when I was 30 it wasn't old. Now I'm 64 and I can tell you that depending on your health and how fit you are Saban at 70 isn't old !

GeautKeeper I agree 100 % ! He didn't think of the reprocussions when he went to Baja, he was from West Virginia ! I think he does want to come back, and he always did ! He begged Bergman after NFL fiasco, Bergman told him he would not like coaching NFL because they make too much money to listen to their coach. Whatever the point is him and wife loved everything about Baton Rouge ! But unfortunately al. Is close to some pretty lakes mountains etc. His place is pretty fine so I don't know what he's thinking but HE IS STILL THE GREATEST COACH IN MY LIFETIME ! Come Home Saban !

You’re points are valid. I don’t think it was an easy decision. I expect Woodward courted him and Terri a while. I think the biggest draw for the Sabans is how much they loved living in Baton Rouge. For Nick, he lives in the shadow of Bear Bryant. Bama fans still say Bear was the better coach. Mostly, he can come back to LSU and establish his legacy as the greatest of all time without the intense criticism. And at 70 you really just want to enjoy your days and be happy. I think this is more valuable than anything Bama offers. Time will tell.

Saban looked tired and defeated last night.

Retirement may not be far off.

HUMMMH....You would think our dumb arse contract writers would get that as well. Saban and Fisher don't have buyouts.

I would give a 6 Mil / yr contract for 4 years for recruiting purposes, but with no buy out.....but it would have STUPID BONUSES for Conf. Championships, Playoff wins and NC. Let the new coach show up hungry with a real incentive to win.

LSU is not a stepping stone. SO WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU GIVE A BUY OUT CLAUSE. Let's assume we get a very successful HC, He won't go from us to another P5 school if he is winning championships and someone comes calling.

We are still paying for CLM

He has looked this way the past 3 or so years.

I am to the point where I have given up the hope of him retiring.

I'd rather Saban come to LSU for only 4-5 years if it gets him out of Bama.

I actually believe he will coach at least 5 more years. I could see 8 more years.

So if it is him… the SEC championship is Dec 4th. Do we announce the week before? The melt at Bama would be out of this world.

I’ll allow it.

Woodward isn’t leaking his name and all these nuggets with sauces are about the ones that seem more plausible.

Behavior can’t be concealed so easily. Everything that has happened logically leads to an epic hire. I can’t say I know it is Saban but the activity makes him the most likely candidate.

If Bama loses another regular season game then if it’s Saban the announcement should come after the season. If they make it to Atlanta then after that game. There is little chance Georgia loses.

Time will tell but I can’t reasonably conclude it is any one other than him. If I’m wrong then I misread the activity. But if all these other coaches were really the ones we would have more than nuggets with sauces. The sports media would be reporting verifiable information. Since that isn’t happening they are the smokescreen.

As to when Woodward started working this hire I would say right after the 2020 season if not before.

I agree, you always shoot your shot. He did not look like the normal Saban this season though. Not sure if old or complacent or just knows his team is not great.

Not a bad assessment at all. This seems like the perfect chain of events for something like this to happen. There’s just simply no way he should be left out of the convo when this next salary is clearly going to be something serious.

Plus, saban has clearly perfected the winning machine. No reason he couldn’t replicate that at LSU. I also wouldn’t be surprised at his age if the “smaller” things are starting to matter more with his job, and maybe he gets more of that in BR.

Word is he loved it here. So I won’t dismiss him until the formal announcement is made.
