hopefully he feels that he has to carry out Bo's 1970s wishes to the detriment of his school just to honor Bo in his death like Les does.

from the comment at the bottom of the linked article

quote:

These old farts are just mad their friend didn't get hired. Les Miles isn't a Michigan man anymore and they have to face that fact. If he was, he would have moved back to the cold state and coached at Michigan State or another college program instead of taking the LSU gig.

wha?

Reading that quote within the context of the article is completely different than reading it by itself.

quote:

Domino's Pizza CEO and former Michigan player David Brandon did respond to an e-mail request for an interview, and addressed an assertion by Dufek that Brandon teamed up with Carr to convince Martin to shy away from Miles.

"Well, that's absurd," Brandon said by phone. "I'm not on the committee and have not had any kind of official role in the search and in fact, had no conversations with Bill Martin from the time soon after Lloyd's announced retirement until well after the whole Les Miles deal."

Brandon - who played with Miles at Michigan, but said the two have not kept in touch - added that he thought "Les deserved to be a very viable candidate in that search."

Almost seems like he is saving face with people by stating surrrrreeeee Miles should be a viable candidate.....

Brandon on Miles 2007

Fast forward to today and do those interviews again. I wonder how much their tune has changed?

If Rich Rod has another year like the past two the next coach will be a super duper "Michigan Man"....

lol..Well here's to Rich Rod having another terrible year then. Maybe that will make them realize they need to bring in a guy that can manage the back end of of a game and kick lots of 3 pointers...

I'd be suuuuuper pissed if Michigan went after Miles next year again and LSU opened up a bidding war for him. Crazier shite has happened with this program
