Sorry but I don't know much about him, I see there's a lot of mixed emotions on the board about him, some people love him, and it seems some people would hate the hire, what are his pro's and con's?

Pro's - Some of his offensive statistics this year were pretty good. Some.

Con's - He's been incredibly average in pretty much every offensive statistical category for the past 5 years.

He's a decent OC. We'd have a better offense than we're used to, but that isn't saying much.

He's succeeded mildly with low talent levels, but his best season ever was this past year at Pitt where they were one of the better units in the country.

Largely mediocre career, put up 76 against Syracuse, became legend.

You can go ahead and repeat that for every single candidate. Everybody has their favorites and preferences. The only positive is that all of the seeming front-runners have proven success at producing top flight offenses. Whether or not that translates to success here remains to be seen, but we have a good pool of options.

What's the difference between incredibly average and average?

Doesn't fit the category of "best offensive coordinator in football" as O said he was going to hire

The passing tid bit has me a bit concerned but, maybe he just adjusts it based on current quarterback?

I looked at your links, and good info from people that saw his offense, but looks like may have alot of slow-developing plays...we know how well those work vs. Bama speed.

Yes? No? Maybe so?

I haven't watched snap one of a Canada offense.

I saw just the opposite. Very quick plays. Very quick creative plays out of multiple formations each play.

Now, yes some of the TE shuffles require a DL to bite on the on the QB or RB doing the decoy zone-read motion first before the shuffle pass is made, but when aggressive DL are chasing down that QB or RB in anticipation, that shuffle got 9-to-10 yards each time.

It has to be hard for even Bama to prepare for LSU athletes in I-formations, singleback, flexbone, pro-form, triple option, Y2spider-banana all in one drive.

To make an analogy to the HC search - Matt Canada would be the equivalent of having hired Larry Fedora as HC.

In other words, "Meh."
