He's spent his entire career in the Midwest, similar to Fleck. I think he's waiting out one of the big boy jobs in that region. He and Fleck would be on a lot of the same shortlists. Penn State if Franklin leaves, Michigan if Harbaugh leaves, etc...

Maybe Michigan State?

He’s in a good position to wait out the next “Top10” job that comes open.

You don’t want to wait too long though at a place like Iowa State.

He won’t have to wait long, this year alone you’ll have FSU and USC...next year probably Auburn and Texas. He’ll get one of those jobs. Michigan St also a possibility.

I’d be surprised if MC went to Arkansas. Is it overall a better job?... of course. But I really think he will get a Top10 job and there’s no reason to take the Arkansas job when it’s clear there will likely be some better jobs come open in the next 12-24 months where he will be at the top of the short list for all of them.

The SEC West is not a very desirable place to coach in the current landscape. Unless a school falls all over themselves to give you $75 million. LOL

LSU (and Soon to be Auburn) both fired very successful high profile winning coaches for not sustaining 10+ win seasons every year.

FSU would be dumb not to approach Campbell. If he doesn't end up in Tallahassee I think it'll be because he turned them down.

I’m surprised he’s not a hotter name honestly.

That being said, I think he stays in the Midwest. ArKansas or Missouri may be the only way he comes to the SEC.

I’ve said before, if I was the AD at Michigan I’d fire Harbaugh today and hire Campbell.

Doubt he would leave Iowa State for Arkansas, better to wait for a big job to open up.
