If I was BK, I’d pass on Corey Raymond and drive to Saints facility today and make a pitch to T.M. to retire at the end of this season and come save DBU! You couldn’t find a better DB recruiter and he’s expressed a desire to coach.

There’s a reason Greg Jackson was a guest captain at the game last weekend

He’s indicated he wants to coach one day, this would be amazing!

No matter how much we all love the guy, you don’t hire someone with zero coaching experience as a position coach at a program like LSU brother. The stakes are way too high.

Disagree. He’s got a gift that’s undeniable. His knowledge and relatability to kids would be a 10! His credentials far surpasses Steeples. What had he done?

Also, what coaching experience did prime have before he took the HC job at JSU?

Mathieu has tremendous football smarts. He's actually a great x and o guy. And he would be an incredible recruiter.

However, he's still playing in the NFL.

Seriously? Steeples coached in the NFL, high school and college.

Badger coached nowhere.

Both played.

Agreed but he’s definitely at the tail end. I’d put it on the table with nothing to lose.

JSU isn't LSU.

I know he was an LSU DB great and played in the league. What relevance does that have to this thread about the Badger?

Steeples was an NFL assistant special teams coach! Wow, what credentials! He wasn’t even a position coach in NFL. BK plucked him from HS ranks! What a resume’!

you don't know if he can teach or if he even cares about fundamentals. what makes TM great isn't teachable.

Coaching DB’s at LSU isn’t being the HC at JSU either. Prime was a huge hit at JSU with no coaching experience and then went to Colorado. I believe that if Prime can make it at college level as HC with no experience, badger would crush the DB room as position coach.
