Did anyone else see on ESPN Mark May just totally rip UT for hiring Lane Kiffin? He said, UT horrible hire Kiffin could not get the job an minnesota and is an unproven coach in the NFL and now you got a 33 year old swimming with sharks in the SEC named, Spurier, Saban, Miles, Meyer and Nutt. Horrible hire. I mean he really ripped him.

I'm not really impressed either. UT needs a proven "name" coach right now. They are gambling with Kiffin.

He's right, really..if Kiffin doesn't surround himself with an all-star staff I don't see him there for too long.

What has Kiffin done to warrant all the interest from a major program like TN.
He won with Reggie Bush and a slew of future NFL'ers.

I'm impressed.
They say he's a good recruiter. Is it really THAT hard to sell kids on USC, Los Angeles/Hollywood, and huge fake tits?
Now getting top prospects to come to Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa takes a helluva recruiter.

He is not proven. He has not shown a good coach or a good recruiter. The recruiting part is a big worry because Tennessee has always had to go out of state to get good players.

Mark May is still Trev Albert's bitch, but I agree with Marky here...Kiffin is a huge gamble, & makes me think that UT was turned down be several others to come down to Kiffin...Gruden, Davis, Leach, Muschamp, & Kelly..so I don't think they had a choice but to hire Kiffin.

Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman ripped on UT for not interviewing any black coaches for the job. I kinda agree with what Tillman said. Charlie Strong knows way more about the SEC than Kiffen does. I personally think UT sold themselves short on this hire.
