What about Mack stays, puts them in the final four next year (yeah, I know, but play along), but gets CRUSHED by their opponent in the first round.
He gone?
I'll play along even though you just made me swallow a vurp. No

It all that craziness happens I am asking chicken for some new riot gear.

Thats true, but maybe not as big money as could have been if Texas had been targeting them as their primary.
I might also say his interest in the USC position may have had something to do with motivating A&M to make the pot a little sweeter for him to stay.

So he'd stay, assuming he wants to stay?
I would have to agree. Can't fire the guy if he makes the final four, regardless of outcome.

Correction. TEXDOT3 did leave Austin for Houston this morning. I believe this is Mack's bird.

I think Mack Brown is negotiating for every dime he can get. He is not happy to be kicked to the curb and he is dragging this thing out as long as he can.
OBTW...no longer think NS is going to Texas...Gus maybe?

What happens when Saban gets to Texas and fails to build a dynasty?
What happens when he stays at Bama and loses two or three games and gets his arse kicked in the Iron Bowl again? Bet he hates to think about that scenario...especially if Bama and the boosters ponied up big cash to keep him. At that point, better guard the Statue......

They would have to wait until after the BCS game for Gus.
I don't know if I can handle this board for another month.

Yeah, that's definitely where the main threat was coming from, though I think they were smart enough to foresee Mack's demise a little further down the road. I hope if Saban falls through we go after Sumlin hard just to frick with Aggie

I expect us to drop two or three games next year if we don't find a solid QB replacement. AJ is gonna be hard to replace.
That said, if our down year is two losses, then I'll take that and be happy we kept Saban around. Kinda ridiculous to think otherwise.
When is the last time this has happened?

Brings up an interesting point.
Whoever is hired at Texas, they won't let them stay and coach the bowl game, like LSU did when Saban left.

I know some people have been wanting us to post any Bama "sources" on this matter.
This was posted in the Bama recruiting thread on the Bama board.
Just relaying info. I HAVE NO INFORMATION ON WHERE THIS CAME FROM OR WHO IT CAME FROM. I'm guessing a Bama pay site.
This is speaking about the recruit he visited yesterday.

A source high up the chain told me today that Alabama may have forged into the lead – at least for now.
“With (linebacker) C.J. Mosely going to the NFL after this season and with Nick Saban staying put (at Alabama), plus the distance thing and staying in the South, it is looking better for Alabama,” the source said.

There isn't much talk from Alabama, outside of recruits, because our boosters can keep their trap shut. It's the only reason we landed Saban to begin with.

That sentence makes no fricking sense.
