Mack Brown doesn't have the luxury of having a rivalry game for job security

I hadn't realized how hard Texas A&M boned Mack Brown. Having a down season but beating your rival is a way coaches have kept their job for years. Mack Brown doesn't have access to soften a down year by beating their rival and instead has to put together actual winning seasons.
Well done, A&M.
For those saying Oklahoma. Did that win keep him from what has happened the past 10 days? Beating a Johnny Manziel led Texas A&M would have salvaged their season and more than satisfied tsips.

How much job security did that get him?

Well right now it appears he'll be back

if Saban went 30-20 over how ever many years like Mack he'd be fired too

Well, he still has a job for the time being. If he had lost to Oklahoma, he would have been fired the minute after the season ended.

According to them we were never their rival it's always been Oklahoma.
This is from Deloss's mouth

What is the red river rivalry and why do they make it such a big deal? I'm new to college football. Someone please help me out.

OU has a long history of poaching TX talent. That game became a super bowl of sorts between the two states.

not only are you wrong but the logic behind your theory is just ridiculous
Saban could go 1-11 and keep his job as long as that 1 win was Auburn

Game started back before Oklahoma was a state and before there were any other schools around here playing serious football. The winner got to almost pick which kids went where

Which actually is 100% exactly the point I made.

They beat OU but tsips don't care as much about them in terms of rivals. They enjoy the pageantry of the OU game, but their hate and obsession are directed 90 miles east

I don't know how you could actually believe that, but whatever
