So when the board was certain that RIley would be the guy, the knock on Fickell was that he doesn't want to leave the mid-west. Now that Riley seems to be out Fickell magically is willing to leave the midwest, just needs a bit of selling. Gotta love the CCB.

He was hired to hire the guy that without Woodward we probably can’t hire. Is that simple enough for you?

i mean ohio ranks pretty well ahead of louisiana in all categories. the fact that BR and the state at large is more-or-less a dump will always factor in to who wants the lsu job

All of Woodward's past moves seem to hire proven coaches at already big programs (Baylor's women bball coach, Jimbo Fisher, etc.).

He may have . I starting to think it could be Fickell. I mean , is he on record saying he is staying at Cincinnati , and not a candidate for LSU since this search has been on ? it’s just been people that think they know Fickell’s thoughts that’s saying he not leaving Cincinnati. Woodward may have done it .

I hope you’re correct. He has been coaching since 1999 and has never left the state of Ohio. Not much of a Nomad…

Bump. Fickell is the guy. Arguments can be made he’s the top guy above ALL. This is Woodward’s defining sell.
