How much shite has Kelly got on this board for backing into playoffs and getting whipped in them especially by Alabama?

ND was done with Kelly because he could never get over the hump. They weren't going to pay him 5 million dollars more a year than Saban like LSU is doing. Its about the money and retirement, not the destination. If ND gave him that ridiculous contract, he would've stayed.
can you address this post now that the actual contract details are out?

At the time, he was a great hire...remember, we had no one of significance interested because of the timing, etc

And this post just shows the pure ignorance of at least half of the LSU fan base. LSU is the one place where the fans are actually a liability because of their own willful ignorance.

Do elite jobs have to pony up 15 million a year to convince someone to coach them?

Well it was only about a week ago that Kelly went on the record saying it would take $250m to get him to leave Notre Dame. Seems like we got him for less than half that, so I guess that elite factor played into it. LOL

From DeltaHog:

"My point is literally any school offers a coach 15 million a year the chances are high they take the job no matter what school they’re at or going. Money talks bullshite walks.

In this thread lsu fans deflect the argument I’m making and instead focus on the Arkansas program for a strange reason."

It's $9.5 mil a year

He is getting 9.5. Don't be mad that you got Big Sam in the last hiring cycle. Don't be mad that Arky will never be anything but a middle of the road team in your best years. Don't be mad that you swing and miss and that your school doesn't have the testicles to go big.

These days? Yes. Go look at how much Saban will make after all these payouts.
