So to confirm, you went from hearing a coach try to sell maw maw on the cardinals to knowing who wrote the checks. Man, you’re like a bayou region Columbo. Martin might give you a show on Channel 10 if you keep this up!

Exactly what I’m saying poochie. If EDW was actually recruiting and really wanted Thibodaux High kids like (Amik Robertson, cam Robinson, trevon reed, k. Lacy, ) they could have been cardinals. But that’s not the EDW culture and programs.
Look at their 2 state championship rosters, there are no D1 players. A few Nicholls kids but that’s it.

can we get a definition of recruiting as it pertains to this. Because EDW and all schools should recruit students in general to come to their school. Recruiting as pertaining to this thread is the school or an outside footing the bill for a student to go to school. That's what willfarrell above is claiming is running rampant through EDW. Yet again, the top talent in the area is still going to other public schools.

I’m not saying they going all out in actively recruiting kids but they are recruiting. I mean I seen it and know of the kid who is there now, he played ball with my boy.
Some kids are not cut out for EDW. The lil fella I seen get “recruited” probably wouldn’t be a fit at EDW academically but would excel in sports.
I get it EDW is a private school with private funding they can do it. I don’t blame the kids or the parents that get recruited for going there, better education and stricter discipline in school.

Both EDW and VCH do some recruiting. To what extent, no one really knows.
I know a few kids who received "scholarships" from VCH for football, soccer, etc. Some parents would love to send their kids to Catholic school but 9-10k a year is a lot of money. So even a small discount in tuition can get kids to go to a different school.
I have no problem with what they do because they grab a very small percentage when looking at the whole public school population. I hope Narcisse does a good job in getting the most out of the kids. That is the biggest thing that will make them excel. Having someone who is known locally, played college football, and has had some success coaching will benefit everyone at Thibodaux High.

Poochie, I never said it was running rampant. Just said EDW is taking some talent from other schools by paying their tuition where as if this kid wasn’t a great athlete they wouldn’t look at them.

I mean they aren’t giving them cars but are paying tuition. I’d say that’s recruiting them to go to that school.
Geez dude, things have changed since 1998 when you graduated. A lot of private schools do it to some degree. I am just stating EDW does it also and has pulled a kid away that I know of from THS. Thats it.

I agree with this 100%. The only sports that are better at CL than EDW is soccer and XC and they are both close. If the athletes who live in CL's boundary stayed at CL, all sports would be better. Hell, 2 of EDW's starting running backs live in Raceland.
I asked my son if he would want to go to EDW and he said hell no!!

Those slow white boys (you call them them talent lol) have parents that want the best education and environment for their children. That’s why they go to EDW
EDW has good Athletic teams because they recruit their halls that have high character and disciplined kids. These kids have great homes and parents that care. Let’s also not forget very good coaching.
Just because you saw the open house billboard in your community, doesn’t mean they’re “recruiting talent”.
