Should try to bring Robbie Causey or Rusty Phelps home. They probably wouldn’t want the job but still worth a try to make them say no. Danny Carrol at Red River may be an option.

Phelps is retired and Causey has debated retiring.
We don’t want Carroll. He was at Many.

Great facilities at Red River but a very unsupportive administration. Sometimes he would find out on gameday that he had ineligible players. Wouldn't surprise me if he wants out.

Re Winnfield. They're not in a position to be choosy. Pay isn't competitive and the talent pool has dried up.

That would be interesting. He has won a lot at a bunch of places.

I think West Monroe gets Zachary’s coach.

Byron Keller is Winnfields new coach. Was Red Rivers head coach the last 2 years.

Travis Gary has been hired as Red Rivers new coach. Had been on staff there a few years I believe.

The talent there, like all small towns goes in cycles. Always has since early 80s. They have 3 good classes in a row, the talent will be there for the next couple years.

That’s what I saw on sportsline… Brewerton getting out a year early rather than a year late

Zachary had a young team last year and probably played one of the toughest schedules in the state. They’re returning 9 starters on defense next year and 6 on offense. Zachary will probably be in the dome next year lol. I highly doubt Brew is going anywhere with the team he have coming back.

If Brewerton leaves Zachary to go to West Monroe then it could only be for money only. West Monroe is not what it used to be talent wise like it was 20 years ago. Zachary is a far better program, better talent. Fieldhouse/Weight Room, locker rooms, Coaches Offices are arguably the best in the state at the high school level. Zachary is 1 of only 2 Independent School districts in Louisiana which operates like they do in Texas.
Anyone know what Brewerton makes at Zachary?

Brew is making close to 200k or a little over.. he makes that salary because he’s not only the schools football coach but he’s the AD for the whole Zachary community school district (junior high AD as well)

I was told he was around $140k the last time the Catholic job came open. This was from someone inside the Catholic AD. I cant say for sure if my source was correct but he is not the kind of guy to shoot from the hip.

140k would be on the high end for top Texas schools. I’m not saying he’s not getting that but if he is that’s a massive commitment from a Louisiana school and I would imagine impossible for any school to try to match/beat
