They are both equally disappointing... I dont think we lose both RR and JJ IMHO FWIW

Bad DC hire.

If we don't get a solid DC, Jackson and Randle won't be able to help anyway.

ETA: That's what SHOULD cause a bigger meltdown. losing Randle alone would probably actually cause a bigger one though, although it woldn't have as great an effect, both short and long term.

the jackson talk has cooled down a lot. not really as worried on that front anymore

Bad DC hire should cause a bigger meltdown. Its a far, far more important decision for the program's future.

if we get both and a shitty DC then they can have a good coaching staff for their junior years

Losing Jackson and Randle, hands down. We cannot afford to lose our two of the state's top players to Saban. If they went anywhere besides Bama, it would be ok.

i agree with this. a bad DC hire is much worse for the program, but the meltdown wouldn't even compare to what will happen if both jackson and randle go to bama

I disagree, though in pure FB sense, the DC is more important than any 1 recruit and even with out those guy's we'd still have a top 10 class.

In the bad old days, La was open to any and al national powers. We'd always get some good players, but under Archer/Hallman elite players left the state we'd get maybe 505 of the top 15-20 players. DiNardo closed the gap, he was getting 70-80%, still losing some, but fewer national powers were coming in. Saban locked the state down. I know you and I agree the most important recruit was M. Hill, when we signed him, I knew we had the state on lock down. To his credit, Miles continued that with the exception of McKnight. Still no one except Bama is seriously contending for top La recruits. I fear if both sign with Bama, the flood gates may open back up, this was my greatest fear from the day Saban signed on at Bama. If we keep both, but especially RR, I think we may be able to fend off Saban for La recruits for good, if we lose them, it could be trouble.

This is by far the most important off season for Miles. He needs to hire a good DC and keep JJ and RR in state.
