After getting screwed on the front end by Miami, he and his players were told Sunday that after becoming bowl eligible, they would not be allowed to play in a bowl per the Miami administration.

That is such BS.

apparently the Miami administration is stupid and hates money. you'd think they'd wait until the NCAA steps in.

idiots.

To me this says they know exactly what kind of info the NCAA is getting and it is BAD so they are trying to get as many brownie points now before they get the full NCAA wrath.

Will not be surprised if Golden is 1 or 2 on PSU's wishlist when reshaping and/or scrapping the JoePa staff at season's end? As despite his current assertions. He is technically in-house talent with former ties, to a school that loves it's history(re:Mich), and yet without the bad PR that any current PSU Asst or JoePa disciple will be stained with fairly or not. Somewhat minimizing the loitering effect of this story over PSU Football.

Golden may get passed over for the PSU job because he's an old JoePa guy.

That being said, leaving Miami for PSU right now is about as dumb a move as he could make IMHO. The Penn State job has been seriously tainted and, depending on what happens, they would certainly not have the kind of resources necessary to compete that he'd get at Ohio State or some other big job.

And the Miami job isn't tainted?

Golden is a stud coach. Whoever lands him will be getting a good one IMO.

I keep telling my Ole Miss friends that they need to throw the fricking bank at Al Golden or Skip Holtz.

I didn't say "stay put", I said "don't leave for Penn State."

Another big position will open up at a program which doesn't have the sword of Damocles hanging over it.
