Lincoln Riley was the next Bob Stoops at OU. But he could be CFB's next Nick Saban at LSU.

Like Bob Stoops, Lincoln might pull out a natty at OU before his time there is done, and play for a couple more. Already, he's 1-3 in bowls at OU, a tad worse than Stoops.

But at LSU, the guy could build a dynasty the likes of which might be impossible at OU. He could be CFB's next Saban at LSU. He likely doesn't have much higher to climb at OU, and is approaching his ceiling there. If he is objective, he knows that. So in the end it comes down to what he wants his legacy to be. Will he be happy with a bunch of 9-3, 10-2 OU seasons in the SEC, or would he rather have a chance at more 12-1, 13-0 SEC records?

How many years have we heard LSU is a QB away?

The only thing stopping LSU from becoming the next great dynasty is consistent elite production from the QB position.

It’s so obvious it isn’t even funny. Everything else is practically built in ready for success.

Riley, or yes even Kiffin if Riley can’t be dragged out of Norman, is the easy choice to give LSU the one thing we’ve been missing since the start of The Golden Era.

Joe Burrow showed what this program could be, no excuse for a supposed kingmaker like Woodward not doing everything he can to make that the new normal in Baton Rouge.

So he can win at LSU in a much tougher conference but can’t win in a weaker conference at OU? This makes sense.

I guess it depends on what your definition of "win" is, because last time I checked the guy was 53-8. Sure he's in a weaker conference but also playing with a roster of weaker players when compared to a roster of LSU players. Louisiana recruiting would take him to the next level.

He's kind of taken on the same trend that Stoops had honestly. Seems to get to the big game and get beat. They win a ton of games, but they just can't quite get past that next level of completion consistently when they run into SEC teams in the playoff.

Exactly.

It's why I desperately want an elite QB guru as HC at LSU.

Riley would absolutely crush it at LSU. I would consider Kiffin as a backup option.

Riley isn’t coming to LSU, but Oklahoma has the same Blue chip ratio and a higher talent composite than LSU does. OU has the number 1 class by a wide margin for 2023, and that’s just since the SEC move was announced. Also OU can pay more.

2023 is far away when it comes to recruiting. Hell I remember when Tennessee had the No. 2 recruiting class in May for an upcoming year and they didn’t finish in the top 10. I don’t believe Riley would leave OU anyway though.

Not according to the NFL.

Thanks for playing.

Bro, I live in oklahoma and none of what you have said is true with the exception of maybe a recruiting class that’s two years out. LSU and OU had the same blue chip ratio at 66% prior to the season. They “might” have a higher talent composite now since LSU is down 18 scholarship players due to injuries and eligibility issues. OU cannot pay more. That is absolutely untrue. They can match but Castiglione won’t be authorized to engage in a bidding war with LSU. LSU generates more revenue and had fewer expenses than OU athletics last fiscal year. Also, LSU boosters spread throughout New Orleans, Houston, Nashville and Atlanta have deeper pockets. But money here is a red herring. If Riley were to make a move it wouldn’t be about the money but career potential.

Riley won’t ever win a championship at OU. He could at LSU.
