A lot of fricks ups would have to happen for them to land in the top 4

6 of the 10 teams in the top 10 play one another this week or next, and they all have 1 loss except for UGA lol

Rankings before the playoff committee convenes for the final time don't mean much. The losers of the conference championships are for all intents and purposes eliminated, except for UGA.

I have a tendency to agree with this timeline. SW will then have to make a decision if he wants to wait and sacrifice some recruitment in return get his man (if it’s the man we all think). My second thought is if Sooners get to the playoff LR will not leave OU

He’s negotiating with OU for an extension. He gets more out them by letting them believe he might sign with LSU. He’s leveraging LSU to get more money.

So, you answer this then. We have seen Franklin, Tucker, Aranda all get extensions. They have all been reported and announced. All of these coaches were tied to LSU/USC at one point. Why hasn't it happened with Riley?

Hopefully we have to find out with Oklahoma State, and not Oklahoma. But I can say with very much confidence that you are wrong.

It goes with the theme of this thread; none of them are in CFB playoff contention. They are threats to leave at the drop of a hat. Riley isn’t, until he knows of his team’s postseason fate.

Why couldn’t he be announced our coach effective end of season?

He isn’t accepting the LSU job when his OU team is competing for a championship

So you’re penciling them into the playoffs already? They still have to play tonight

If you think it’s before The Big12 championship game is over, with an OU win tonight, I have $500 on it. Let’s bet

Well...he has to commit to LSU...

That has to be made public sooner than later because...a lot of people are impacted by the decision...

Never a good time to announce "I'm leaving"

But it has to be done...

Lets hope OU loses...because that would be better for all involved

And it’s not like he absolutely denied it, if they really think he’s leaving they might have a motivation issue.

They didn't need a motivation issue to hurt them. OkSt is already a more dangerous team than OU this year. It was gonna be tough without any possible distractions.

We've been led to believe he already committed "signed" documents his intent to accepting the job...

So my perspective is based on this understanding...

I think it’s a huge deal to have your coach before the early signing period.

It is. If OU squeezes into the CFB playoff, that does not fit LSU’s timeline.

Riley leaving OU at that point would he highly unlikely, anyway.
