Lincoln Riley ran away from the SEC West. Brian Kelly is running TO it.

That's all you need to know about these 2 guys. Riley knew that his all fluff and no tough style of playing wasn't going to stand up in the SEC. Kelly brings an aura of toughness, discipline, and no-nonsense CEO mentality to the program and is going to be great for LSU!

Very true. Riley saw what happened to the once mighty Nebraska program when it entered the Big Ten, and he ran to the Pac 12 which is a weak conference when compared to the SEC.

You’re an idiot if you don’t think Kelly would have been on the first flight to USC if they were dumb enough to increase his pay from $2.7million to $10-15 million?

This. Not that I always agree with him but even Cowherd who is a USC/Riley homer was saying this today. Said that it is OK to sometimes choose the easier path in life and that's what Riley did. Equated it to "working smarter" but basically said the same thing. .. why go through the SEC when you can do it easier at USC and own the Pac-12. BK is an ELITE coach and just raised the national profile of the LSU program!

Meh, that would've been like Riley going to Texas.
And Kelly was making way more money than his listed salary.
