some improvement in the areas of game/play clock mgmt, overall offensive line, WR catching, DB tackling, going conservative on the gameplan against tougher competition
each and every one of the above listed items have been a consistent problem for each and every one of Les Miles' seasons in Baton Rouge. Regardless of OC. Regardless of DC. Regardless of Perrilloux, Larry Porter or poor QB play. The one constant through all these years is Les.
Please feel free to dispute that.
I have a problem with a head coach that cannot say, "this game and play clock mgmt issue is a problem that must be addressed". And freaking address it!

Odds say there is less than a 10% chance Miles wins another NC at LSU.
Just stating the facts...

With 1:32 left in the 2nd quarter of the 2011 Cotton Bowl, LSU was forced to waste a time out because it couldn't get the proper offensive personnel into the huddle and a play called before the time alloted under NCAA rules.
Did we have enough time outs to waste one? Sure.
Did it come back to hurt us? No.
Does it show that the problems, evident since year one, but that only really hurt us against Ole Miss and Penn St and only nearly hurt us against Tennessee, are still real problems that have yet to be corrected?
Absolutely.
Why is this coaching staff too proud to admit its failings and address them. I don't expect a coaching staff to be perfect. You're not going to win every game. Each and every decision won't turn out well.
The only thing I ask is that when things don't turn out well more than once, that the coaching staff admits to themselves "hey, maybe this plan isn't working" and addresses and corrects the issue.
There are numerous instances of this from Chevis Jackson returning punts to short-side option to game/play clock management.
If any LSU fan is entirely honest with him or herself (i.e. take off the Miles-colored glasses), you cannot honestly dispute that Miles' tenure has been rife with issues that continuously and repetitively go uncorrected.

FWIW, they work on it every practice. Miles actually listens to all the criticism fair or unfair. It is suprising he would want to stay around some of the ungrateful fans like you.

Don't bring that truth shite in here. This is not the time to reflect on what Miles is as a coach. This is the time to say woohoo, yay, and stuff. Wait till people are biting their nails off watching their superior team struggle with a bunch of scrubs game after game. Then you can bring you're little slice of logic to the board and get a better reception.

so you would take a well executed, mistake free 7-5 or 8-4 season over a "lucky" or poorly clock managed 9-3 or 10-2 season?
Or would you prefer a well executed, mistake free 10-2 season or a lucky 11-1 with a national championship?

I didn't know offensive line, WR catching, and DB tackling were all problems in problems 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010
