haley met with miles last night about the DL job. haley is getting forced out of Chicago, i assume he'd take the job if offered. his resume sort of sucks. jesus, what a drop this is from the Walker/O/Vance team.

Pretty far down from the Lombardi/Parcells/Noll team as well, which was about as likely as Walker/O/Vance.

yeah thats it, one guy who accepted the job and two who interviewed for it were every bit as likely as two dead guys and a NFL GM. bravo, you really stuck it to me with your brilliant analogy.

You were pretty much solid up to this point. From there on, however, you sort of wandered off the reservation.
The point of the "analogy" (if that is how you want to classify it) was that characterizing an outcome as "what a drop" from a theoretical one that was never going to happen is not logically sound. Walker to LSU instead of a head coaching gig west of the Rockies, and Orgeron to LSU to work under Chavis, were about as likely as resurrecting Vince Lombardi, or hiring Chuck Noll--who lives in Pittsburgh, a town that has been compared to Hell, but as of now is still in the temporal world--or Bill Parcells, who is also alive unless something happened after Baltimore's beatdown of the Fish. A little bit of hyperbole there? Sure. But what fun would this be otherwise? Get a grip.

O's NFL stint wasn't exactly successful either

he did a good job at MSU saying his resume "sucks" isn't really accurate

If you get fired from the NFL you are clearly worse than one of Saban's gophers.

why is Haley so shitty? Success, or lack thereof, at the pro level means nothing for the college level.

If you're good enough to get a sniff of coaching in the NFL you're good enough for the college game.

Brick Haley would be a very nice addition to the tigers staff.

We should have made a better choice at DC if people want to bitch about the hires.

I'm very disappointed in losing out on Vance Joseph too.

well.
he spents three years at MS so he knows SEC ball and was noticed by the bears. That's some plus. not familar with his coaching style.

does he have some fire?

i wouldn't say this is rolling the dice but this can go either way.

anyone have more details on this cat?

You say a drop down from Walker / O / Vance !!!!

1. Chavis is the best DC we could get - great hire and is a true pro and well respected.
2. O displeased Payton and Payton said his DL was disappointing. Probably would have been forced out. Plus O is a mad man and would have been disruptive to the program -- We lucked out.
3. Joseph - wished we could have got him.

no, seriously, his resume sucks. It's was printed in the Comic Sans MS font and his Career Objective was "To gain a position with a progressive football team where my skills can be best utilized".

Comic Sans is arguably the worst font in history.
