Yea I'll go out on a limb and say there's no chance he's there even half that long if FAU stays good.

He'll have the luxury of staying there until a job he really wants opens. Win-win.

I'm watching his offense light up Akron right now. Hasn't gone for a single easy, chip-shot field goal. Goes for it every fourth down no matter where the ball is. He wouldn't hesitate coming to LSU to haunt Saban.

I’m guessing Freshwater isn’t actually living the Boca life though. He isn’t exactly a snowbird, dude.

He’s a West Palm type of guy and likely spends the better part of his social time there or even down in South Beach.

And it isn’t just about home prices, although you can bet Lane wasn’t looking in the not “very pricey” areas. Throw in green fees at Broken Sound and marina fees at Royal Palm and your million goes pretty quick.

Again though, he probably has plenty of change left over from Oakland and USC and probably didn’t burn his whole salary in Tuscaloosa.

I do think he will stay a couple of years but if a decent P5 job calls he’ll take it like it’s the early bird special at Kee Grill

It’s pretty fun to watch. Honestly would have loved seeing him at Ark or UT just to see if he could get in Saban’s head.

Best bet was if Gus would have gone to Ark imo. I definitely could have seen Auburn bringing him in because they DGAF. He would have fit that dirty arse program to a T

there is no better ending to the Lane Kiffin saga than him landing long-term at a school like FAU and pulling a Bobby Bowden he'd be like a Benjamin Button of coaching with his career almost going backwards also, just so everyone realizes, Kiffin is still only 42 (and Bowden was 47 when he took over FSU)

College football is just more fun with Lane it. But why ditch Layla? Why Lane?

And he's still young and he's single in Miami.

Lane Kiffin always lands on his feet.

It’s a win win for both parties. Lane gets an extension and a raise. The contract likely has a decent buyout if he leaves. Everyone wins.
