Hasn’t been word but I agree he should be made the DL coach now that Davis is out of play.

Of note, he's got 2 of his 4 GA years left.

Not saying this is a determining factor, but it does mean we can keep him on staff for 2 more years of coaching experience before him being required to move on.

Why would you promote him to DL coach when you can go out and get a big name for both recruiting and development? You can still keep Lacouture around too there's no downside. No reason to make him a DL coach he hasn't coached long enough to be considered for that.

SEC wouldn't allow him back due to his passed transgression, and LSU didn't want to argue with the SEC due to the Title IX issues looming.

You know who should be coaching the Defensive Line?

Ed Orgeron. That's what he does best. Let him take over DL duties with Lacouture.

O doesn't need to be and shouldn't be running around the practice field micro-managing every position group. He needs to be working with the DL's for the majority of practice.

If he needs to give a Head Coach Pep Talk at the end of practice, then Lacouture can singularly babysit the DL's for a few minutes.......

Fine with me. Who besides Davis could we be looking at, though? I'd be surprised if Nielson would come just to be DL Coach.
Just as long as we don't let CL get away.

Seems like Pruitt's "past transgressions" are too recent for us to hire him when he gets axed.
Sorry, obviously that's about DC and kick arse recruiting not CL.

I mentioned him in another thread: Charlie Partridge.

I think he's one of the better DL coaches around and one would think our chances of pulling him from Pitt at least in the realm of possibility.

I'd love Dunbar, but two things were to have to happen to even have a chance:
- Pittsburgh fire him
- another NFL team wouldn't go after him

I don't think both would happen. So Dunbar is a pipe dream.
