Relax. He's just one name being mentioned for interviews. Brian Schottenheimer, Dave Ragone, etc.

The point is that there will be several people mentioned as interviewing, but there's no telling who he's going to hire.
When he hired McElwain, people had to look him up, because nobody had mentioned him.

koetter doesn't seem to fit the mold of a saban OC.... Loeffler more so... It'd be a lot easier to control a younger, less experienced guy than Koetter.... just my two cents.

Didn't Saban replace a younger, less experience guy for a coach in his mid 40s with 20 years of college or pro experience under his belt?

All this speculation about Koetter likely won't matter. Odds are that he'll get another NFL job.

both McElwain and Applewhite had very little experience actually calling an offense..... Loeffler, or any other less experienced OC/QB coach fits the mold much better than Koetter.

You're kinda changing what you originally posted with the inclusion of "actually calling an offense".
You can't really compare the two at all, Applewhite had 2 years of actual coaching experience before he got to Bama, McElwain had 20.
And even though it was Montana State, he still called plays there. Any way you slice it, "less experience" does not properly fit McElwain. You're trying to force a square peg into a round hole to make your point...

whatever.... bottom line is Applewhite had two years experience as an OC and McElwain had three..... Koetter has about 12 years as an OC (and may have called the plays at ASU).
My original point was Saban has targeted OCs without much experience as OCs... perhaps i should've been more clear. McElwain, while having been in the profession a while, had only been an OC at Fresno for one season.
That doesn't mean Saban won't buck the trend and hire Koetter... we'll see.

you're right... i looked back at his resume -- five seasons at montana state back in the mid-90s and one season as Fresno OC. i was thinking MA had more than one year as Rice OC, but that's not the case.

If that hire happens, it may last a year with Saban and Koetter. Koetter bigger a-hole than Saban. They hated him at ASU
