People regularly complain about the number of talented offensive linemen LSU produces compared to other major schools such as Alabama. Those people have not noticed the similar number of NFL quality OL both schools have recently produced.
The other issue is schools that produce fewer NFL quality OL prospects than either Alabama or LSU still put up points when they play Alabama. It isn't a talent issue because: A) the talent is similar based on the production in the NFL and B) less talented schools do better against Alabama than LSU. That heavily implies the issue has been coaching - and a focus on recruiting instead of coaching is a complete misunderstanding of the problem.

LSU was worst or tied for worst in points, total yards, and yards per play. You do realize they played USC at a neutral field with a limited OL and a QB that has since been replaced, Kent St at home, Western Kentucky at home, and Kentucky at home right? They played LSU on the road with way more talent, depth, and experience, yet LSU was literally the worst out of any team they faced this year. This shite runs WAY deeper than OL.
Scheme is why LSU consistently looks like hot garbage vs Bama.

Now did I expect to steam roll Alabama? Of course not. But I did expect to at least show some level of production by the fourth quarter. Bama had a tough time against us offensively, but they still put up over 300 yards against us, mostly in the second half, while we put up less in the second half and got shut down. Why? They made adjustments. They out coached us. It's simple. How do people have a problem seeing this as it is?
It's like the man get's all of the credit for setting those records, but none of the blame when we look like a JV high school team on offense. It's bizarre.

What other Southern Miss coach did we hire that didn't work out?
NVM that Auburn and Alabama were 8-3-1 and 7-5 that year. Of that Hallman lost 5 games that season.
