Kiffin explains why he passes more early in game than people like

Since Lane Kiffin has been the offensive coordinator at Alabama, fans have screamed at him to run the darn ball.
Kiffin has heard those cries from his colleagues, too.
"You mean like the head coach?" Kiffin quipped in the aftermath of Alabama's 54-16 victory over Florida in the SEC championship game.
"We have a philosophy," Kiffin said. "Every game is different. You loosen people up. So, a lot of times those runs you run late in games don't work the same way early on. So, you run a lot of perimeter stuff and then we go faster than we used to here, so a lot of that is sometimes you start slower but you wear guys out. I think in the last two weeks if you look what's happened in the second half of games I think the defense has been tired because of what we do early in moving the ball around and making them run sideline to sideline and then coming back more downhill later."

LULZ. Same shite power spread teams have done in the past to beat Bama. Possible up tempo to prevent subs and running their front 7 to death on horizontal stretches. Then gouging then later between tackles. We've seen it from Meyer and malzahn.

Yeah I don't know why Bama fans bitch so much because he does that every game and then is usually dials it in the 2H usually with a heavy dose of Scarbrough. Somehow it all works I believe we are averaging about 37 points a game before the SECCG

This is shite. You run it early, often, and if it's not working, you keep doing it. After 3 qtrs of it not working, you go play action. Because play action works when you can't run the ball and your O line is having a hard time with the rush. That play action really fools the rush and allows the qb more time to set up and make reads and deliver. I've seen it for 5 yrs.

God that philosophy would be such a breath of fresh air at LSU.
I would have a perma-boner.

I don't care. SEVERAL teams we could have put away in the first half we didn't because we kept throwing.
Please LSU, Houston, oregon, Ft Valley St., Southern,,etc Make it happen.

You don't know that, pure speculation. What you did do was put almost all of them away in the 2nd half like LK planned.

No matter what the system, the key is moving the ball and not going 3 and out.

Exactly what LSU did when Mett, Hill, Juice, and OBJ were here. Hill punished teams in the second half...

So what's wrong with that?

I cannot stand Kiffin but he is a freaking offensive genius. The things he has done with totally different QBs every year is pretty damn good.

Don't know about offensive genius, but you're right about his job as the QB coach.
And he's a pretty good OC too. Just, maybe not a genius.
All in all, he would get passing marks for his time at The University imo.

Bama fans are the least knowledgeable football people I've ever met. He attacks the edges bc he's using the speed on the team. Yalls qb isn't very accurate yet, so he keeps passes under 10 yards north and south. Kiffin has made jalen look way better than he is because he's got him in an offense he can do well in.
Kiffin spreads the defense out, attacks the perimeters with passes hurts can manage well, and utilizes his speed when hurts sees some space to run. it's a west coast offense run out of a pro style spread.

He's made a successful offense from a different qb with a different style 3 Years in a row. Lane is one of the most versatile guys in the game. My Bama friends think Sark is better. I dont know why y'all love Sark so much even though he's never coached a day at Bama.
