Y’all are some dumb folk. The guy took over in June…1 day before the line camp started. He did not recruit a single player to this team or had the time to spend training them up in spring ball or for half the summer. You cannot give this guy his fair shake and it’s sad.

Cool. Let's allow the new coach to decide if he wants to work with him or not.

This staff just finished last in the SEC West and you have people on this board passionate about retaining large portions of it.

I agree. If Kelly wants to keep him fine, if not, later. The bigger annoyance is all the Jones simps on here. LSU is offering to make someone highest paid DC and they want to retain Jones when you can instantly get an upgrade there.

Not only that for Jones money you can actually do better than him. You don't have the luxury of learning on the job at LSU and there's very real risk we still don't know what we have with him. Maybe he learned some things past few weeks...until he gets exposed again. He's not worth the risk anymore. He can learn somewhere else. For his pay grade he's not up to par on production at LSU even with improvement at the end.

Kelly is not a DC guy so he knows he has to nail that hire above anything else. Gladly he doesn't listen to the simps on here.

Kelly has the say and if he says Davis goes then so be it. I see it from a fans prospective of Davis offering a lot to LSU if he is retained.
1. Sam Pittman hired him as his OL coach. I think this speaks volumes if a HC with expertise in OL hires the guy.
2. He never got a full year to recruit or develop the players. He’s been handicapped with options available.
3. Play calling has a lot to do with the tempo and demeanor the OL plays with. There is no if ands or butts that Peetz play calling hurt the OL.

I absolutely didn’t say it was his fault…..but he did little if anything to improve the situation and as I said some guys got worse…..so he isn’t free of blame….in fact he deserves a good bit of it but it isn’t entirely his fault.

Who got worst? I’ll give you two names I never thought were good, but given they played in 2019 they were far overrated…Ingram and Deculus. I don’t see how the line got worst. Show me

Both of their own making. From what I saw, Kansas was not unhappy with Les, at least most fans, until he started hitting on Coeds there.

I don’t think Davis will be the OL coach.

I'd say he's odds on favorite. I think once Kelly gets a chance to evaluate current staff and interview him, he will be retained.

Great. Can Mawae actually coach? He played here. Doesn’t mean he would be a good coach. And you shouldn’t learn how to be a position coach here. He’s an assistant line coach right now. Go be a line coach somewhere else, prove yourself, then get back to us.

I love LSU, too. It’s my alma mater. But I can’t coach. And this shouldn’t be a training ground for position coaches and coordinators. Ed Orgeron isn’t here any more.

I was unaware he started in June. My bad. All I am saying is our Oline hasn't been a leading strength for a long time. I like the man a great deal.

Please not this again.

Atleast he finally took another coaching job this time instead of just begging the local radio guys to get him hired because of his name

Honestly, what has Brad Davis done to get his spot ripped away?

Davis hasn’t done anything to get his spot ripped away but at the same time if we can get Quinn from ND to come, then sorry but things happen Brad.

He’s in the Daronte Jones boat, I think people would be fine if they came back but at the same time we shouldn’t be turning down better and big time coaches to do so

ETA and just so it’s clear, Kevin Mawae does not fall under the better and big time coaches category

Mawae literally runs professional camps and clinics for college and pro line play.

Jesus Christ.

If you've ever watched football and you watch Ingram in 2019 and 2020 you can't possibly say he didn't regress in 2021.
