1) Stability. Notre Dame is one of the more stable programs out there. Easily.

2) Wins. Dude is a PROVEN winner. Notre Dame is constantly in the playoff picture. Their schedules aren't soft either.

3) A springboard for the next coach . The guy is pretty old. We've got a little over half a decade if he's the pick. But the program would be in a beautiful position when he left. Just like ND would be if he left.

Don't knock it.

Here I was thinking that ND’s strategy of avoiding schedule scrutiny by playing bottom tier P5 teams hadn’t fooled a single person. Apparently it has.

He’s 60 not 80.

He’s ten years younger than Saban.

He’s not my pick, but that’s dumb

Check out the schedule ranks. ND has played a tougher or as tough schedule as anyone not in the SEC West or Big 10 east. He’s not playing with LSU athletes either.

He wins enough to get noticed. No more no less. Pass.

Soft schedule to inflate wins. Notre Dame recruits itself regardless of coach. Not sure he can handle the pressure of everyone coming to Louisiana looking for top talent. ND gets everything handed to them until they play real opponents then get their arse handed to them.

Someone hasn’t looked at their strength of schedule over the past 5 years. You might want to do that before you post.

The man makes the playoffs with Vanderbilt-type athletes. I can only imagine what he could do with LSU-level talent.

This is spot on. Right now is a bad time to hire someone for the long haul. There's no one worth a piss out there.

They get the benefit of the doubt. The college football world wants ND to be good so they always get their rankings inflated. It's bump b/c of their name. It's why they're like 6-14 in the last 20 bowl games

Kelly would be an excellent hire. And we’ll get him for a lot less than Riley would have been paid.

Their schedule aren’t soft?? You can’t be serious, they’ve literally only played 3 teams ranked in top 25 in 2 years.
