If so, why didn't they go harder after Meyer?

I have heard that Meyer and Notre Dame had informal talks and said he would consider if ND allowed a certain number of partial qualifiers. ND said they werent going to change their admission standards, so Urban said he wasnt interested

I may be WAY wrong here, but this smells of "Rich Rod a done deal to Bama". I never thought this would be the best hire for Notre Dame.

lost a lot of respect for Rich Rod when he pulled that. The kids work hard to get to a bowl game. They shouldn't be hung out to dry like that.

Mistake - should have waited on Saban if they wanted a person that can turn a program around. it would have been as close as you can get to a sure beat.
Still not sure WTF Cincy ever beat worth a sh-t.
Getting to where you might as well join the MAC and take a sure BCS bid

If this is the case, ND can prepare itself for more years of mediocrity at best. Not that I'm complaining one bit. Dumbasses.

all yall saying Kelly wont win there are idiots. You will eat your words in a couple of years. He will turn Dayne Christ into a #1 pick.

I'm not saying Kelly won't 'win'. I'm saying that unless ND unties their coaches' hands with regards to athlete admission standards, they won't compete for titles, like Granny Holtz was able to (btw, his recruits didn't have to meet admission standards). I am not saying that college athletes are dumb, I am merely saying that most of them don't have 3.7 or higher GPAs and 1300 SAT scores...and if ND insists that their athletes meet the same requirements as their non-athletic student body, they will "win" about 7/8 games a year at best...though the way the BCS system is set up an 8-5 season at ND = 10-2 everywhere else.
