What we know tends to support OP's position. There's no reason not to announce the hire now (unless it's Fickel or Aranda), and recruiting really warrants an announcement -- assuming LSU has an agreement.

So you think a coach who still has something to play for wants LSU to announce something now to distract them and their team from whatever they're trying to achieve all to make the LSU fans not worry?
