Just a summary of the chaos today in case you missed it.

- Both 247 and FootballScoop post almost the exact same update this morning, stating that the tier 1 candidates for LSU are Riley, Jimbo, and Tucker (zero mention of Campbell, Stoops, etc).
- Jimbo then came out and made a fairly definitive denial of his interest in the LSU job, stating that he would be the dumbest person in the world if he was recruiting all these elite players to A&M, only to have to turn around and play against them if he went to LSU.
- Vol then makes a post stating that we basically struck out with Jimbo and Riley, and have sunk to the point where we're reaching out to Mark Stoops.
- Reliable person on 247 then makes a post stating that someone just told him that Matt Campbell will be offered the job, but clarifies the statement by saying "I'm not sure I trust anything at this point".
I think it's safe to say that no one truly knows what's going on, and we're finally at the stage where Woodward and his close circle would be sending out intentional disinformation to keep people in the dark about a potential big hire. And all the rumors today prove that.

This is an abbreviated breakdown. Jimbo is a no. Riley is a no. So should be waiting on Aranda’s decision now, Campbell and Mark Stoops leaks are just to create a smokescreen.

The national media appear clueless, have nothing to report, yet insiders leak Campbell and Mark Stoops. Aranda must be Woodward’s guy. I’m praying he is.

Think for a second which candidate needs a smoke screen to delay before a deal can be put in place.
Jimbo? No. If he wanted to leave A&M he could announce right now.
Fickell? Yes, squarely in the playoff hunt, but I don’t think it’s Fickell.
Aranda? Nope. Again, he could accept right now.
Napier? Same.
Riley? This is the one that makes the most sense. Although they are 99% out of the playoffs after last weekend, he can’t make a quick decision this week or it would look like he wasn’t focused this past weekend on his team. Riley has likely shown some interest, but asked for things to be kept quiet while the details are worked out. Enter the leaks.
