I think people are confusing this with LSU's buyout of Miles if they fire him, which is the huge number that was being thrown around after the Tennessee game.
BINGO.
Fiscally speaking, the cheapest way for LSU to get rid of Miles is for Michigan to hire him. In fact, thanks to the Skipper's negotiating skills, LSU will profit if Michigan hires him.
I wonder how many other coaches have such school specific penalties in their contracts...

that $1.25M would get distributed to season ticket holders, right?
No, it goes to Skip Bertman.

False. It has always been in his contract. It was talked about extensively in 2007.

I completely forgot about pay parking next year. Ugh.

If Miles left for another team, they don't have to pay LSU.
If Miles leaves for Michigan, they have to pay the 1.5M dollar buyout or whatever the money amount is
Who is "they"? The only person bound to Miles' contract is Miles. He is responsible for payment of any buyout. Now, I'm fairly certain any discussion/negotiation with potential new school would include that they would pay it for him but it is his legal obligation.

Along with the 2.25 or whatever that goes to richrod and the salary they would have to offer Les to get him there makes for a pretty penny.

Okay, so we're up to about 3.5 million before Michigan even signs a contract with Miles, which would have to be substantial (somwhere in the realm of 3 million a year) to get Miles to even consider going to UM
