Brady showed brilliance that year, BUT........
He had the best QB this century, and upper tier NFL receivers. He had dependable offensive line play and an excellent running game.

He also wasn’t the one calling the plays.

Jb9 wasn’t going strong before Brady got here.

There is probably a world where Darnold and the husk of Cam Newton aren’t good QBs and Joe Is and Brady is a good OC.

Now ask yourself why does LSU need to hire an OC that needs to have his hand held?
well, we hired Ensminger. He couldn't even install a modern offense or call plays on 3rd down or inside the 10.

And we fired that coach and are trying to go away from doing things like this.

truth

At Carolina, he was not brilliant. AND...
The difference between the Panthers talent and the best and worse teams of the NFL are less than the talent difference of LSU and Oklahoma! He underperformed with roughly equivalent talent.

I'm not so sure about that. I'd say Brady performed about on par...maybe a little bit better than the talent he had.

I'd like the Bray hire for Kelly because he would hopefully push Kelly toward a more high flying offense. And, I'd like that Kelly would be there to guide Brady as needed.

But, as I mentioned, it isn't happening.

Right, he only had the 5th best passing season in LSU history (4th before his glorious 2019 season) throwing to revivers who dropped a shite ton of passes. The most important thing Brady did was fix that.

Because they improved so much since he left? Clearly he was the problem right?

I've heard so many people say that Brady didn't call any plays, Orgeron and Ensminger both said that Brady called 3rd downs and red zone plays and LSU was top 5 in the nation in both categories in 2019.

Brady was in right place at right time with the offense of Burrow, Chase and Jefferson, and they could have made anyone good. Ensminger did not get enough credit as OC. Joe Brady ain’t all that.

How to post that you know nothing about football without saying you know nothing about football.

Saying that LSU should hire Joe Brady as their OC

Stop giving this guy credit for 2019....it wasn't him!!!

FIFY. Brady was a vital piece in the 2019 team but it was a collective effort and the perfect storm of talent/leadership.

If Brian Kelly thinks he is a good OC and wants to hire him I have zero issues. My problem is the people that want to hire him then say “Kelly can run the offense while Joe Brady learns under him”. This isn’t a place where the OC should needs to learn how to be an OC. We are LSU we should have an OC that can take what Kelly wants to do, mix it with what he does, and implement his own offense and run it efficiently.

Offenses in the NFL don't function without a competent QB. Ignoring this about Brady's tenure in Carolina would be the equivalent of ignoring the fact that he had Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, Edwards-Helaire, and Marshall.

Keep in mind that this would be a situation with a very strong presence in the room.
