Jimbo the Smokescreen?

What’s in it for Jimbo to be Woodward’s smokescreen? Even jockeying for another raise doesn’t make sense after just receiving one.
To me it makes no sense. We know they are friends. What would that conversation look like?
“Hey Jimbo, I’m going to go after Riley, but I’m going to use you to throw everybody off. That way you have to answer a bunch of questions about a job in the next state over.”
“Sure Woody, I don’t mind, I love pissing off my fan base.”
All I’m saying is, I think Jimbo is Woody’s guy. And the fact that there is this much smoke means there is a lot of mutual interest.
I’ve been in business long enough to know that people hire 90% of the time based on a relationship. You trust who you know.

Congrats on all the five star recruits that Jimbo is bringing with him from A&M. He got you Walter Nolen last week. Word is Shemar Stewart and Evan Stewart are next.

It's probably wise for him to allow the smoke to build. When he doesn't go anywhere it becomes a recruiting pitch against one of his biggest rivals.

Why did we lose out to Jimbo on last hire? He wanted LSU but the relationship with AD was not there.

Pretty sure Woodward already had his guy locked in before he ever fired O. They are just waiting until the end of the season to announce, which is the way it should be done especially if he is a head coach somewhere else.

Jimbo lost one game in two seasons with Jameis Winston. Without those seasons he’s an 8-4 coach on average. That might be good enough for the faggies but not here

All this is comical really. People throw shite at the wall and assume it’s true.
Nobody on LSU’s side really knows who Woodward is talking to. Jimbo is an easy guess given their connection but the reality is most of the BOS and our fan base would not be excited over a Jimbo hire.
But hey if it makes you happy to think otherwise go for it.
I’m hoping for someone proven but also not prone to lose to Arkansas and miss states of the world with all that talent.

Probably, though these things are never done until their done. Worst case we get one of Aranda, Napier, or Tucker. All have knocks all have upside.
