Why not go after him at this point? He’s young and upcoming and his defenses at Wisconsin have done well.

Wisky is his alma mater. That would be a tough pull.

If LSU could double his salary why not at least kick the tires? Make him formally say no. Every other DC candidate has done that already

Apparently told us, through a proxy, that he has absolutely no interest in leaving Wisconsin and to not waste our time.

Which I can appreciate.

It doesn’t matter how many have said no. This is LSU with returning talent on defense. Both of the two have been talked about as top candidates according to Coach O and we missed on both. At this point it won’t hurt to take a shot at Leonhard maybe 3rd times a charm.

agreed. That's how it should be done, by both sides. (and usually is).

I'd like to see them test the water with Phil Parker. We're talking throw the bank at him scenario to get him to leave Iowa laterally. But it would be a good hire.

If you want to go to a "Nielsen clone", i.e. promoting a DL coach, then hit up Charlie Partridge (Pitt). He'd jump at the chance. Maybe even his DC, Randy Bates. But I'd rather put Partridge with a good LB coach and Raymond and see what the trio can do.

Phil Parker is a raging a-hole with a temper to boot.

Trust me, he will lose your high profile athletes.
