what do you think about him. I think you would love to have him.

Would be a slamdunk... but near impossible to get away from Tennessee.

ok. i think we'll pay up to 700k. i do think he is a candidate.

Would be disastrous for Tennessee. Kiffin called him 23 straight days trying to get him to follow to USC. One of the best playcallers I've seen in the SEC. I think we'd be willing to go to around 6-700 K to keep him.

He is a really good OC. I never really thought about him but it is interesting LSU is going after him. I think he would be a homerun hire personally. I like who we have as our candidates so far, Les is really going up there(aside from kragthrope).

if we get him then it's a slamdunk.

If he has aspirations of being a HC in the near future then I think we are an option. If he is as good as advertised and with our big time returning offensive talent then we could catapult him to top of the promising coordinators list for HC jobs.

He's not making that much apparently....from the link above
As offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, Chaney will earn $380,000 in the first year of a three-year contract.

We would still need to hire a QB coach.

A Chaney hire would force out Stud also so it would be awesome/will never happen.

Crompton passed for 27 TDs in his offense.
Crompton!!! that dude was turrrrble
that should tell you something.
I do think he would be a good fit.

The only thing that could probably persuade him to stay would be all of our young offensive talent that will be experienced in a few years. Bray at QB, Rogers, Hunter, and Arnett at WR and four returning starters who are frosh o-linemen.

Chaney doesn't work with QBs and he didn't call plays in his first year. Lane handled both.

I wouldn't mind kicking Stud to the curb and getting someone to develop QBs like Steve Logan. Talking about two homerun hires there...
