Jeff Lebby and the Baylor scandal

First off, it’s well known that Lebby is Art Briles’ son in law. I don’t believe in guilt by association and honestly that means nothing to me. Guy married his daughter, big deal.
However, there are some disturbing details regarding Lenny’s involvement that LSU CANNOT overlook.
It should be noted that the lady didn’t cooperate with police and ended up not pressing charges.

Speaking to former ESPN reporter Joe Schad, a woman named Dolores Lozano said former Baylor running back Devin Chafin abused her on multiple occasions in the spring of 2014 -- and that Bears assistant coach Jeff Lebby knew about it:
Lozano states that after the first incident, she reported what happened to Chafin's mother and Lebby, who is still on Baylor's coaching staff. Lozano says she exchanged text messages with Lebby about the alleged incident, while trying to decide if she should go to Waco police.
quote:
Chafin said he never discussed the situation with Briles, but did with Lebby, who is Briles' son-in-law. "Coach Lebby told me to calm down," Chafin said. "I was emotional. I was crying. I needed to talk to somebody."
It should be noted that the lady didn’t cooperate with police and ended up not pressing charges.

I’m not going to pretend to know all the details of that scandal, but given LSU’s title 9 issues it seems obvious to me the program isn’t going to associate with anyone involved in the Baylor mess.

If he could improve LSU then people on here will ignore anything negative about the guy. Hell, a large portion of the people on here wanted to hire ART BRILES in 2016. I doubt they care much about his son in laws level of guilt in all of that.

Tells me all I need to know. Her first call was to her alleged abuser's mother, rather than the police.

What's this tell you? It's not uncommon at all for legitimate DV victims to not want to involve the police and try to figure out ways to work it out privately.
These aren't random acts of violence, like getting mugged or assaulted by a stranger on the street. DV victims usually care deeply about their abusers and are really conflicted about what to do. They don't typically want the person to go away (or to jail), they just want the abuse to stop (for the person to "get help").
Anyway, my point is, it's dangerous to read too much into a DV victim's actions, unless the first action is to contact an attorney and file a civil suit.

Same can be said with almost all the stuff here at LSU Seems like all these types of accusations follow this track everywhere. Guilty or not we need to pass.

So why are we talking about this?? Your purpose is to draw attention to this because

A little advice you can take it or leave it.
If you get raped or you have been abused. Don't call campus police or the coaching staff. Call the big boy Police. This is so stupid. Girl says she was abused and the coaches supposedly know but police are not called.

To me, this screams of someone wanting to extort something from this dude. Either way, it's a moot point for us, I think. My guess is ol' boy will probably end up back at OU.

I don't give a shite what is common or uncommon.
If someone assaults you, call the police. Not the criminal's mom.
If you want to keep it quiet, that's cool. If you choose not to call the police and handle it privately, don't get mad when nothing happens.

When did coaches become the arbiter of sexual misconduct and not the police and Justice Dept.
If a woman refuses to file charges, how can a athletic dept be held responsible.
Wasn't Briles cleared by the University of misconduct?

So....
It didn’t happen.
Why waste time on nothing?

Because that’s what the law calls for. I disagree with the law but that’s a different discussion about title ix and how it’s interpreted.
Doesn’t matter if the lady was making it all up. Lebby didn’t follow the law.
