So Rich Rod did realize the mistake he made when he left JC in Morgantown.

I could see Venables leaving. With Mike Stoops coming back, and having spent his entire career under a defensive guys, whether at Oklahoma or Kansas State, maybe this is his chance to branch out. He's not exactly cozy with the Oklahoma fanbase either, after the last two years' defensive performance.

Venables just had Stoops hire his brother and demote him to Co-DC. I think Venables may not want to stay after that. But then again, he may know he sucks and not wnat to prove it and just ride on the Stoops train.

Sure he would. He stays in the Big 12 gets paid more money to be "the guy" and is not a "co" defensive coordinator like he will be with Bob's brother, Mike.

Apparently Venables turned down the West Virginia DC position and has now been offered the Clemson DC job. He can't be any worse than Steele.

Clemson is looking for a new defensive coordinator after Kevin Steele parted ways with the program earlier this month. His defense surrendered 70 points in an Orange Bowl loss to West Virginia.
The sources told the newspaper that the job is Venables’ to accept or refuse. If Venables says no, he would be the co-defensive coordinator with Mike Stoops, who was recently hired back to the Sooners staff after being fired last season as Arizona’s head coach.
Sources also confirmed to the World that Venables was offered the Mountaineers’ defensive coordinator position, but Venables refused that spot.
