It's been Napier all along, Folks

All other names are a smokescreen. Woodward initially leaked Franklin & O'Brien for PR reasons. Napier not being one tells all.
Woodward has been vetting him since '20 after O's antics got worse. The divorce changed him.
Lists will throw out "developments" and new front runners but we will find out it was Napier all along. Napier is the kind of guy that wants to finish out the season with no distractions and Woodward is letting him. He turned down Auburn knowing this job would be open and he'd have contract clauses 1000x better. It's a well known fact around SEC coaching circles Napier has been waiting on the LSU job
The only other name that makes sense is Aranda but Woodward & Aranda don't mesh well... Aranda saw through his speak. He also is adamant on coaching at a school with less hostile/bipolar environment.
Dislike this all you want, but this scenario makes too much sense. Would be a home run hire that is extremely unlikely to fail. Napier lives, eats, sleeps football and has coached under Saban+Dabo. Could coach here for decades and be a trademark.
There is no better choice. Bookmark if you don't believe me

Napier says nobody has contacted him, and I believe him.
My belief is that the new coach was 100% locked in and confirmed, prior to firing O.
Put those two together, and that eliminates Napier.

There's no way he even mentions anything. Would be a terrible decision to do so.
He turned down Auburn and couldve been contingent and this exact thing happening.

I’ve been reading up on all these coaches all day, and I know it’s just numbers and words on a screen, but I think Napier is the guy.

I seriously doubt this is the case and even if he thinks he has his guy he must know nothing is locked in until a contract is signed. I think more likely Woodward felt pressure to leave O at the airport in Lexington but it was decided to let him go in a more dignified way especially since there isnt anyone on staff really qualified to take over.
