It says something that Denbrock was undefeated when playing equal talent

We’re not going to have equal talent to Bama for a long time, if not until Saban leaves…any way you slice it, today was not an impressive performance by Denbrock.

It would be nice to see some creativity to try to offset the talent gap. I’m watching it on the all 22 and I see no motions, shifts, or anything else besides lining up and running plays.

Well they aren't going to change what's worked for them all year for one game.

Exactly- for the people giving him a pass on talent discrepancy are delusional.

Totally

If they were more evenly matched they would have scored at least 13

I agree, but you have to consider how outmatched they were in every way as well.

Back to the Miles era defeatist attitude bullshite. LSU didn't have more talent than Bama in 2019 either. Their talent is plenty good enough. Lsu fans have a weird battered syndrome when it comes to Bama even when there's tons of evidence they can be beat .

That’s the Les Miles philosophy. How did that work 1/9/12 against the Alabama head coach?

I agree but the gap in talent between LSU and Bama compared to Cincy and Bama is and always will be much tighter. And, that's not saying anything one way or another about Denbrock.

From a SI article

quote:
The talent gap between Alabama and Cincinnati is wide. Just look to the last four recruiting cycles. The Tide have signed a combined 86 prospects rated four- and five- stars. Cincinnati has signed five.

The score shouldn’t be this close.

LSU is unique in the fact that you simply have to convince LA talent to stay home. Look at the team Bama fielded this year, not to mention the teams in the recent past. Now imagine them WITHOUT Louisiana boys; take that one step further and imagine them playing for LSU. Those games get a lot more competitive if not lopsided in our favor real quick.

Most teams benefit from a NC year, the recruiting year after our last win, we lost EVERYONE on staff of importance and lost out on a bevy of talent and most went to Bama.

We simply need a competent coach that can convince kids LSU is the place to be. It won't happen over night, but it won't take long.
