Gundy isn't leaving now. Arkansas had their shot 5 years ago. He wanted the job. Long went out and got another guy. Florida just chased Gundy for a short time before they settled on Mullen.

Gundy has just built a weird arse dream homestead just outside of Stillwater. Like, crazy property. He will retire there. Yes, things are patched up between he and TBoone.

IMO Arkansas needs someone that has shown they can either A) win with lesser talent (like Petrino or Gundy) or B) transcend the location and pull big time recruits from outside Arkansas while also locking up the talent at home, which I think Lane could do. I agree with the other poster that I think Arkansas is a great job for the right coach and won’t ever fall behind as far as facilities or support for the program goes

This feels like a trap...

but I won't disagree with you.

UT will frick this up again and I pray that aTm brings in Jimbo...The conference just got easier for us as a mid-tier team

The guys you named didn’t seem to be rumored to the better schools. So far 2 coaches have signed contracts and neither one of them were ever a possibility for Arkansas. Arkansas has hired a guy with a lot of baggage before so they could get a better coach then Tennessee and maybe UF . When your willing to pay big money and take a guy with baggage then your chances of getting a good coach are pretty good.

UF blew out Arkansas when Muschamp was the coach . We have also owned Arkansas, so laugh at one of your very few wins you ever got against Florida. I am not sure why your attacking a program that’s superior to yours .

Ar-kansas isn't a powerhouse program, you'd better be happy with a Leach equivalent. He'd be a homerun for y'all. Hell he'd be a homerun for LSU, imo.

His teams would get pummeled by the physicality of the SEC

Can you elaborate on this statement?

The air raid produces physically weak teams. I would not like to see a Leach team go through an SEC West gauntlet. They'd be giving up 300 yards rushing per game by the end of it.

Would not surprise me at all if Arkansas and State end up having the best hires of the offseason. Not having immense pressure to hire a big name like Gruden or Chip Kelly or whoever allows a search with due diligence.

#3 team in the country too... The 2011 LSU and Bama squads are probably 2 of the most talented/best teams of the last 25 yrs. There's was simply no one in the country even remotely close to those 2 teams that year... So your Statement is a totally without context.

That Arky team dominated a top 5 K-state team in the Cotton Bowl that year and finished as probably the 3rd best team in the whole sport.
