Coaches. It sets the expectation at championship, and quickly. But it takes luck, and there is so much competition at the top. It’s not fair to say any coach can win here.

It means a great coach would be considered a failure without winning it all within a few years.

But that’s not fair, and it hurts LSU’s chances of getting that great tier 1 coach imo

Any potential top tier coach going to a top tier program and getting paid millions of dollars knows damn good and well what the expectations are and accepts that challenge and reward.

What do you suggest “ah yeah guys just do a good job and we’re good here”?

As it should. If a coach were to come into LSU and not believe he can compete for championships from the jump, I don't want him.

Also, these dudes are top level competitors. They all thrive on that kind of shite. If they didn't they wouldn't be in consideration for the job in the first place.

take a guy like Lincol Riley.

He might be a great coach, but by saying that "anyone can win at LSU" but the truth is the competition is fierce! The ball can bounce strange ways! It should be the stanard to compete for the west annually.

Do you think there aren’t coaches out there who think the same thing?
