Is Muschamp still considered a good defensive coach?

I know he’s an analyst for UGA now, but will he ever get another shot at DC again or is he done?

He may get another shot, but I don't consider him good enough for a major program DC.
Lets put it this way - in TJ Finleys first start and snaps as a true freshman, we scored 52 against South Carolina. I know there were other scores (int, kick-off) but there was no way TJ should have looked so comfortable.

I'd say at least the past 7-8 years his defenses have been incredibly mediocre if not bad. If anything, maybe the past decade? I don't know. It's possible the game just passed him by with the evolution of offenses in NCAA. Remember Finley shredded his defense in his first start ever. That's just sad but a good sample size of his defenses the past 8 years or so?
If LSU is throwing around numbers like "highest paid DC in NCAA" then no, he's not considered worth it here. For those numbers LSU could probably poach an NFL mind if they wanted to.

No, not really.
But he is a good defensive recruiter.

He rushed no more than 4 against TJ Finley. It is at Boom did not learn anything from Saban. True freshman making his first start ever—-dial up 20 different blitz’s and hit him with them the first 20 snaps. Game over. Boom didnt do a thing to change the looks he gave Finely (coverage, rush , front , etc). Laziest game plan I ever saw. If he gets another shot, it’s a Bo Pelini type mercy hire.

Maybe the S&C guy can coach him up.

He might be a freshman on paper, but true freshman?
