They had better than Turnkey. LSU went to Nick first and shot their shot. Nick said no and recommend Lane. It's why Gameday avoided the topic two weeks ago.

No, they think their new AD who has never led a coaching search or hired anyone is going to land Kiffin.
Verge isn’t new to this, dumbass. He’s been around for 3 football coaching hires that brought 2 National Championships, another appearance, 3 SEC Titles, and 5 West Titles.

Well this first time AD got Kiffin and your search firm is gonna get you Fisch sooo

Surprisingly, some of us do not like Verge.

So tell me what the advantages of having a search firm is if you know who you want?
Did UF have to consult with Turnkey to confirm that you wanted Lane or something?
Eta: this is a legit question.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Why would you need a consulting agency to find a football coach especially one as simple as Lane Kiffin.

Curious to know as USC used Turnkey to get Lincoln Riley before LSU could.
Some of their recent hires:
- University of Florida (2022 MBB): Todd Golden
-University of Texas (2021): Steve Sarkisian
-Indiana University (2024): Curt Cignetti
-University of Arizona (2021): Jedd Fisch
-Texas A&M (2023): Mike Elko
LSU has used them in the past. I haven't heard of any this time.

I don’t think it’s that simple. When Florida began its search, no one knew if Lane was willing to leave. Technically, we still don’t.
TurnkeyZRG is basically doing Stricklin’s job for him. According to Google AI:
- What it is: A specialized recruitment firm that provides a complete, end-to-end hiring service.
- How it works: The firm acts on behalf of the client, conducting the entire search for talent, from creating candidate profiles to presenting them for the final decision.
- Examples: TurnkeyZRG is an executive search firm that places senior-level talent in the sports, entertainment, and media industries. They handle the entire process, which allows the client company to focus on its core business.

I like my turnkey fried. Don’t really care who shot it and what method they used though

This reminds me of BK's PR consulting he did in the offseason. It was a nice way for them to say, "don't look stupid in front of media sessions" to steal money from him. Sounds like this is the same thing. "hire kiffin pay me my fricking money now".

It’s a huge advantage using a professional search firm, and Turnkey ZRG is one of if not the best search firms for college coaches there is.
First off, it keeps an idiot AD from hiring the first name he likes, such as when Scott pretty much went and hired Napier on his own.
Second, they have a much bigger network of connections compared to an AD and a couple boosters who usually make up the search committee. They have tons of data, tons of pre-completed vetting, and tons of coaches they have prior relationships with. This makes the search process much smoother for the school and it can help dig up candidates who would have never been thought of before (I.e. Cignetti). It also makes the search smoother when you narrow down candidates because you don’t need to worry about checking references, background checks, etc. That’s all done on the front end by the search firm.
Most importantly for UF, they add a layer of confidentiality with communications. Turnkey acts as a liaison between the schools and the agents so most of that communication and negotiation would not be subject to sunshine laws. They also act as an “intelligence” arm when it comes to making an offer, what really matters to the potential candidates (salary, NIL demands, etc), and knowing what other schools are interested/what those schools can offer.

This is MOST DEFINITELY where Florida is getting their confidence from….their side believes it’s a dogfight and they have professionals in place while LSU has Verge, etc

No search firm is needed for Lane Kiffin
