I will be taking over the Volunteer head coaching search in lieu of the "missing" John Currie, we all pray he is found shortly, odd circumstances, odd...

Les is on our short list

Ensminger's playcalling in the back half of O's interim season had the effect of making Miles and Cameron unemployable

At 64, Les would actually be the perfect guy for Ole Miss. He could guide them thru their sanctions without a lot of expectations, then after 3-4 years, retire.

On top of which, Ole Miss wouldn't have to pay him a lot.

Les may just need to play the game to get his payout and move on to retirement, perhaps a little TV. If you are that good, his age is not that big of a factor considering the average shelf life of P5 HC's. However, while he did ok at LSU, the slide got very evident after 1/9/12, and his refusal to change did him in. While someone might have been joking at Ensminger's play calling making Les and Cameron unemployable, I think a lot of schools saw what an interim could do with the offense that was anemic under Les. Ensminger made him and Cameron look pretty bad. I don't see an aggressive P5 school seriously considering Les.

About his age?

How many other coaches mentioned are 64 years old?

yeah, they would. You don't understand how it works. If they underpay Les, LSU would challenge his contract and win.

Why isn't anyone the least bit interested in poaching O? Speaks volumes, doesn't it?

I said it before and I'll say it again: he'll never see the light of D1 again. I wanted him gone before wanting him gone was cool.

While I'm at it, I understand Skip is a legend in T-Town -and rightfully so - but this hire was a king size blunder.

Why would he want to ruin his coaching record by going to Ole Miss?

You have Saban to blame for that. He gave very late notice. If he had done it a couple of weeks earlier, Spurrier would have probably been sitting in Baton Rouge instead of South Carolina.

As it was, due to Saban giving late notice, there was not much left to pick from. Evidently, Skip decided that Les was about as good as it was going to get at the time.

Think what would have happened if LSU had cut Les loose after Saban flamed out at Miami and expressed interest in coming back to a couple of BOS members.

Either way, we would have still been paying off Miles' contract.
